The U.S. debt to GDP ratio hit 69% (10 trillion U.S. dollars) in September 2008 before the 750 billion U.S. dollars (or Obama's $ 819 billion, about 5% of GDP) Rescue operation. Their GNP is 14 trillion U.S. dollars, combined with consumer and corporate bonds from 123% and 140%, respectively, of that GDP. Faced with U.S. $ 59.1 trillion in government liabilities (including unfunded Medicare and Social Security obligations) it is deep in the red.
Depression II?
Lost Rising unemployment (2.39 million jobs from December 2007-2008) will increase with the safety of consumer loan Delinquency levels that are already at 25% in May 2008. Corporate debt securities threatens to burst the next bubble, projected at 23% by 2010 crime. Is it the Great Depression II? September 2008 signaled the worst financial recession in history, more than the great Japanese recession of the 1990s, where the decline in prices wiped out of corporate demand for assets representing 20% of GDP in Japan.
Because the U.S. financial system Toxic Assets seriously undermine their Balances, preventing a return to normal lending. Worse, the U.S. Treasury Department announced in November that the 750 billion U.S. dollars Troubled Assets Relief Program (TARP) would be used to encourage spending and lending so as not to absorb toxic assets. But Bernanke and Paulson were not easy, with 350 billion U.S. dollars rehabilitate the banks, the laggards are the balance of its former Wall Street colleagues, rather than fresh impetus to lending.
In the wonderment of Obama, why TARP does not work (and the $ 819 – or is it $ 950 – billion rescue package fails), our Economist as President noted that "the worst thing that America is nothing to do, "in Davos. In fact, setting, say a 50% minimum tender for Toxic Assets, with the U.S. government to guarantee the difference between this price and, finally, that the assets are sold, would immediately start lending banks' again. It would dispel the uncertainty, the financial system, where the unknowns are (per Knightian uncertainty perspective) are unknown, where people are afraid to act because they do not see the ground.

But a reasonable drive along the coast leads the visitor back in touch with Thailand. Sattaheep, Chantaburi and Trat are much more traditional.
Here are the comparison between the advantages and disadvantages of Retirement in Pattaya.
Take advantage of retirement in Pattaya, Thailand

Would it be better for the expats living in Thailand when there is less tourism?
Not just tourism, hey ask prices only. They have provided some to think of good things. I'm pretty sure my question is, would not change anything.
The tourists are good: 1) makes the flight cheaper (economy of scale), 2) many expats probably start as a tourist (I was on a business trip to Singapore, when I first came to the LOS – just coming for the weekend, when I learned Singapore is dead weekend. This reminds me of that joke reminds – Question: If you are in Singapore, where the best place to go out on Saturday evening? A: Bangkok or Manila); 3) (probably) Learning means more Thai people to speak English – which is very convenient if the Thai expat who can accept me, most can speak, but if the first expat in Bangkok comes …. I do not think that makes a difference to the price of things, because the number of tourists in the entire population of Bangkok compared with relatively insignificant. There are still (occasionally) two prices – the price you do it in English, and the price if you are polite to it in Thailand and are a regular customer price, which I have no problem with since most of the shopkeepers / food stalls just make enough to survive anyway. I think that tourism in Phuket probably makes a big difference to make the prices. I was quite surprised by the price of food in Phuket, compared to Bangkok (still) very cheap by international standards.
Bangkok, known as Krung Thep Maha Nakhon in Thai, is the capital and the cultural and commercial center of Thailand. Bangkok is located on the Chao Phraya River delta, about Located 40 kilometers from the Gulf of Thailand, in the central region of the country. With a population of about seven million people, Bangkok is the city where the majority of foreigners in Thailand.
In other words, over 25% of the population of the city's expatriates. Many of them work, while others are retired or tourists a long-term holiday. Majority of expats in Bangkok are westerners including Americans, Britons and Germans. Most of them work mainly in foreign owned and managed companies. A whole series of Japanese expats can also be seen here, many of them working in Japanese firms in the city.
Expats living and working in Bangkok and a lot number of people from other Asian destinations such as China, Indonesia, Korea and the Philippines. Many of them work as a teacher and communicate some sections are for export to foreign customers. In short, it is no wonder why Bangkok is different than you considered all the Asian Cities.
One of the main reasons why many foreigners prefer to relocate and stay here for a long time due to its low cost of living. Housing and daily consumer goods, plus food is relatively cheap in Bangkok. However, the cost of living in the city depends on your income. For an Executive Committee, the in the city with a salary of more than 150,000 baht per month, or teachers with salary of around 35,000 baht per month can easily live here.
Middle class community with 10,000-20,000 Baht per month may well live here. For example, a studio apartment with facilities such as furniture, telephone cables are connected, and hot water are available for rent 5,000-7,500 per month. Similarly, two-story row houses can be taken for rent for only 5000 baht per month. But renting an apartment or a house with high-end systems can go up to 10,000-20,000 baht per month. It may be even higher if you are well heeled enough to have a top-end serviced apartment or condo to choose a Rent between 25,000-100,000 baht.
Since many foreigners are Bangkok as a destination for their retirement life to spend a majority of expats now showing interest in investing in real estate in Bangkok market. However, there are certain restrictions for foreigners who are interested in investing in real estate. A foreigner can a country or a house in Thailand through a Thai registered company itself, provided it has more than 39% of the share capital of the Company.
Similarly, an expat can own land or a house in the country with his Thai spouse. In other cases, an expat can lease land for 30 years, with an option to extend it for another 30 years to of which the first 30 years are guaranteed, as they registered with the Land Department. However, there are fewer restrictions on the ownership of a condominium in Thailand. In other Words, condo is the only type of asset that can legally by a foreigner in the country belong.
When it comes to food, everything from traditional Thai cuisine and seafood to exquisite Chinese cuisine and French. To buy food or food from hawker stalls or Food court in the shopping centers is extremely favorable. There are also options for those who want to eat delicious meals in luxurious comfort, Form of international fast-food restaurants or fine restaurants located in the most modern hotels. However, it can be expensive. Then the bill will would be lower when compared to similar restaurants in America or Europe.
The prices for other foods are also relatively cheap. For example, a can of coke is only 14 baht. A loaf of bread can be bought for 25 baht and a bottle of milk for 10 baht. Also article Many Westerners, "including corn flakes, Tescos, pasta, jam, cheese and bacon in large supermarkets and at local prices.
Of the foreigners in Bangkok, majority of them live in the city's Central Business District (CBD) Silom Sub-district, or close to or at the Phloenchit Sukhumvit Rd. Some of the expats live in the suburbs of Bangkok, where economical housing options available stand. Almost every western country has an embassy in the city, including the Australian Chamber and the American Chamber.
Likewise, many organizations and business enterprises are here to offer visa services. To ensure high-quality treatment, many world-class hospital function here like Bangkok General Hospital and Bamrungrad. In particular, operate many organizations here for the expats in Bangkok, such as the European society and young professionals Hash House Harriers.
