Laura Tovey, Assistant Country Manager in Ghana tells us about a new project in which our volunteers are always involved in journalism.

A new partnership was established between projects abroad and the vision released – a newspaper for the people of Buduburam Liberian refugee camp.

Since last print edition in October 2005, The Vision is only available online to www.thevisiononline.net. But now projects abroad, the financing is secured, the paper goes to print again. Running With an initial print run of 1,000 copies will be available to the vision available to those who do not have regular access to the Internet. All journalism volunteers in Ghana now have the chance to one or two days work a week, the Vision.

More than 42,000 people live on Buduburam camp, established in 1990 to record a segment of the Liberian people through the civil war in Liberia started on 24 December 1989 postponed. To meet the needs of this population, The Vision was founded in May 2004 by Jos Garneo Cephas and Semantics King Jr., two journalists from Liberia. Says With its emphasis on human rights stories King Jr., the goal of the vision is to "information for the purposes of education, awareness social awareness and support for the new democratic process in Liberia. This is achieved by providing a forum for setting the agenda of matters achieve the interests of refugees, even the refugee public officials accountable. "

Several Projects Abroad volunteers have already visited the camp where he made contacts in order to hunt out the most important messages. The volunteers can also work with other stages of production, including editing, Proofing participate and training for current employees.

Projects Already deposits abroad and works with newspapers in India, Bolivia and Romania. Mircea Samoila, Director of Ghana, edited our magazine in Romania for a year and helped to set up the journalism project in India. When asked why he was with the vision wanted to participate, said Mircea, "access to information is a right, and a particularly urgent need for the Liberian refugees at the moment. They have also the right to be present for their situation to their host country [Ghana] impartial and honest manner, unclouded by prejudice and ignorance. Projects Abroad Pressure is the sponsor of The Vision, so that they can provide these rights to the Liberian refugees in Ghana. The inclusion of our own journalism volunteers in the Production of the paper will ensure that the situation of Liberian refugees outside Ghana as well known, and that their story is also told from a Western perspective. "

Already the editorial team is looking into the future. Once the vision is restored in printed form, King Jr. has plans for expansion. It aims to the new standards of professionalism is something volunteers help by keeping their skills and experience to help the formation of a permanent staff. Founders The newspaper also plans to take back to Liberia. Every day more refugees return to their homeland, brought by the hope of peace, the election of Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf inspired as President and it is important for the vision to go with them.

King, Jr. said: "My exact plans for the Vision for Liberia about them as the only national paper that would pursue exclusively with issues of human rights continue educating and informing the Liberian citizenship of their basic human rights, which in turn would enable them to protect their rights and those of others. This knowledge will help to slightly violate the legal rights identified by the government not only, but is used by other political leaders. That is my vision for …
The vision. "

Moving to a foreign country can be intimidating and finding the best place to rent can be daunting. Dubai expatriate population steadily increasing and the demand for rentals is high. Unfortunately for tenants has resulted in the skyrocketing rents. About half of UAE residents spend about 30% or more of their salary on accommodation expenses. Despite the Costs, most expats opt to lease, especially in the UAE for short-term contracts, rather than to invest in the property market. To facilitate Many of these are looking to rent a property in Dubai, the government has passed a law which provides that no rent increase is not accounted for 7% of the annual rent does not exceed may impose. There are also several new developments underway that should take some pressure off the market in the near future.

Housing is usually part of the expat package. Although in the past, companies would account for the entire rental amount, the trend now is for expats to be allocated a certain percentage of the total annual costs for accommodation, the rest being paid for out of their salary. Others note fees when renting include a security deposit (refundable At the end of the lease if the rent than those in good condition, by the landlord), possible parking fees, monthly utilities, municipality charges (usually) 5% of the lease, and 5% commission if you use the services of an estate agent. Maintenance and repair of the property covered by the landlord. Tenants are not allowed to make changes to the structure of the property inside or outside, without the permission of the landlord.

The rental agreement is often drawn between the landlord and the tenant companies operate / sponsor. If an expat signs the lease himself he must have a visa or a residence permit at least one Letter issued by his employer confirming that a visa is being processed. The normal duration of a lease is one year. Unlike in many countries, where rent is payable monthly, in Dubai in the year the rent is paid in advance, usually with 2 or 3 checks. For example, in the case of the semiannual payments, the first 6 months of the lease are paid off immediately with a current from the check, while the rest of the year with a post-dated check. (Short-term furnished monthly accommodation in Dubai is available but it is often more expensive.) It is important to understand that once the lease is signed, the tenant is bound by the treaty. To terminate the lease, the tenants would have the permission of the landlord. That being said, the rental laws in Dubai actually favor tenants. Landlord can not force tenants, without a very good reason to leave (for example, the property for personal use) is missing. Even if the lease for one year only, as long as the tenant does not break all aspects of the contract, it is assumed that the lease be extended. The municipality has established a special department, the Dubai Rent Committee will review all disputes between Landlord and tenant.

After expenses, the situation is probably the biggest factor in determining where to rent. Dubai is in two of the Deira Creek, with split (or "Old Dubai") on the one side and "New Dubai" on the other. The decision to hire, where you are working on factors such as accessibility to schools, Shops and hospitals. Some of the most popular locations are for rent:

Garhoud: located near Dubai International Airport and offers a low-rise apartments and vacation homes at affordable rents.

Mirdiff: a recent development, consisting mainly of villas, past the airport.

Bur Dubai: near Bur Juman Shopping Center and offers low-cost housing.

Downtown Deira: cheap low-rise apartments are readily available in this area is even if work or schools are on the opposite side of the bay, the traffic can be a nightmare.

Satwa: a nicely located area between Sheikh Zayed Road, Bur Dubai and Jumeirah located, with low-rise apartments and cheap villas. It is believed that zoning regulations in the near future for Satwa change will enable the development of skyscrapers.

Jumeirah / Umm Suqueim: ideally located near parks, the beach and schools, this is probably the most popular Area for the European and local communities, upscale villas and townhouses.

New Dubai Developments: including The Greens, Arabian Ranches, The Lakes, The Meadows, Emirates Hills and Dubai Marina and close to Dubai Internet City. Many offer gated, family friendly communities with access to swimming pools and other leisure facilities.

The search for Dubai rental property can be substantial Find listings in the classifieds, or directly from the developer as Alpha Real Estate, Arenco Real Estate, Cluttons UAE, Better Homes and Century 21 Search for the perfect place to lease can be very time consuming and seems overwhelming. Understanding UAE rental laws, only with a reputable broker, and the investigation The best locations are all part of making the search for an apartment or villa in Dubai successful. About the Author:

Expatriates were asked to take advantage of Internet savings accounts to ensure their cash reserves grow as much interest as possible.

A survey Alliance & Leicester has found out that over two thirds of the expatriate UK citizens not to save their wages in savings accounts. To do In all, 70 percent of expats is not setting up an offshore savings account in the immediate aftermath of the move. This is true despite the fact that the majority of reasonable opportunity have to do this.

Almost three quarters (70 percent) of expatriates use the internet each day as if, so far away from home, they have to rely on e-mails to keep in touch keep up with friends and families, and the Web to keep up to date with international news and views.

In fact, 40 percent of expats use the Internet for daily up to one hour, ie they have a limited basis for the possibility of calling as an excuse for not setting up a web – Savings account.

In addition, 46 percent of the current one to five expatriates spent years abroad, suggesting have to pay money into an offshore bank account would be a long-term, but do not do as a short term measure – again limiting the scope for choice.

The opening of an Internet savings account would be particularly relevant to expats because many wanted to move abroad in the first place, as part of an attempt to increase professional development and earning potential – that is accelerating, ensure that the money is well looked after should be on their list of priorities.

The survey also found that the British move to more distant Corners of the world in an effort to land their dream jobs. Although around 40 percent move up destinations like the Middle East, Australia and the U.S., there was an increase in the number of British move to Africa, Singapore, Thailand and Russia.

A further study by the Alliance & Leicester has emphasized that not all expats career-driven, though. Weather proved to be the decisive factor in the decision of 40 per cent of expatriates to relocate to a foreign country.

This demonstration was of website Propertymartoverseas, which states assured that "the rising prices, spiraling debt, rising interest rates and a seemingly ineffective government, other factors for this mass exodus with expats, the better quality of life, lower living costs and more reliable weather. "

Why GPs are jobs abroad?

As globalization is an increasingly well-known realization of the jobs moved abroad by cheaper labor costs and a better tax benefits. For some jobs, I can understand why they are laid. for example, telesales or customer service, online banking, Manufacture, etc., lawyers, accountants, however, for jobs such as doctors who are in the country to have to perform diagnoses, operations, etc. I do not understand. Although it is true that the cost of transport to fly abroad is cheap for certain services such as plastic surgery, it does not necessarily mean that a country's legislation has strengthen the medical equivalent or better standard as some countries (free) for offense. Neither, it would be for the practical Midwives are in another country when turbulence would be significant health effects on unborn children and mothers. Would someone help me to explain The logic behind this? Only relevant and helpful answers. Useless or unhelpful answers are not recommended Cheers
